Advertisings and other goings on...

Alright, so I haven’t been able to upload any comics for a while. I apologize, but it’s not my fault. If you’re reading this on Monday, you might wanna check to make sure if I’ve uploaded 2 comics since you last visited, as this is Sunday night (late) and I plan to get Monday’s comic up on schedule (Fingers crossed). But anyways; on with the show!

Yeah, so you may have noticed ads around the site now. This means I'm selling my soul to the metaphorical devil.

Awesome.

In other news: Moon Bloodgood; you have the fakest fake name ever. Even more fake than Gaylord St. James. And he had the- fairly reasonable- excuse of starring primarily in horror movies and... other stuff*.

Ironically, however, this is actually her name. She’s part Korean or something.

Anywho, the reason I bring this up is that I went to see Faster; the latest Dwayne "I dare you to call me The Rock again" Johnson movie, in which she plays one of the two female leads. Seriously. There’s like, two female characters in the entire movie. The movie itself is sort of okay. It's been edited to have scratches and marks through the film in a throwback to 80s action movies, sort of like they did with Planet Terror and Deathproof- the Grindhouse duology- last year? Year before? I'm not sure. The issue I have with this is that I can see this becoming the new 'handheld camera' gimmick** which is now way overdone and not as interesting as it used to be.

As a side-note, one of the villains (Oh yeah... belated spoiler alert, I guess, but it's pretty predictable, so I'm not exactly spoiling altogether that much) is awesome. Again. I mentioned the awesomeness of the villain in The Green Hornet a few weeks ago. Maybe it's just that villains are awesome. It's possible. Anyway. This guy is so awesome that he gives up yoga because he beats it. Yeah. Take that... yoga...ese? Yoga practitioners...? What do you call someone who does yoga, anyway***?

Oh, yeah, and I know I have some new readers and stuff, and I haven't really asked this for a while, but if you know anyone you think would like the comic, if you could spread the word, I'd love that. Kthanxbye.

* Okay, I'm pretty sure it's porn. If not, they're doing a great job of having movies with misleading sounding names... I'm just sayin'.

** [REC], Blair Witch Project, Diary of the Dead... I can keep going if you want?

*** Okay, fine. So a lady who does Yoga is a Yogini and a Man who does Yoga is a Yogi. But as it turns out, there's no term for a group of yoga-peoples... My nomination is a Yogurt. Any seconds?

Critics are stupid

So I have a list of movies that are being released this year that I'm planning on going to see. As such, I'm completely disregarding anything the movie critics tell me about said movies.

Case in point, the first movie on my list was The Green Hornet. I say "was" because yesterday I went to the movies and saw it. IN 3D.

Now first off, let me say that the movie was not in any way, shape or form, deserving of a 3D release. It seemed to me that it was just another movie hopping on the 3D band wagon. Some movies I can understand. Movies heavy on special effects like Sucker Punch and Transformers: The Dark of the Moon (both also movies on my list) are fine, but in this case it just seemed kind of pointless and excessive.

That's not to say it's a bad movie; anything but. It's not really a smart movie, it's not really amazing in any areas, and it can't seem to decide whether it wants to be an action movie or a comedy, but it's deserving of more than the mere two starts most critics seem to be giving it. Now, I'm not going to spoil anything, but let me just say that the villain in this movie is incredible. He has a two-barrelled_gun! Oh, and the climax is incredibly stupid and awesome.

Check it out.
